Selby District Council

Selby District Council logo

The Selby district covers an area to the south of York and, although mostly rural, includes the bustling centres of Selby, Tadcaster and Sherburn in Elmet.

The position of Selby, in the heart of Yorkshire and within easy reach of key cities such as Leeds, Doncaster and Hull, has led to the district being designated a growth area, with the forthcoming 'Renaissance project' promising some innovative and exciting developments to the three market towns. These developments will complement the area's historical treasures, including the famous Selby Abbey.

The district also enjoys fantastic transport links, as well as being within easy reach of North Yorkshire's two National Parks.

Selby District Council is a fast-developing authority, and we've made some exciting changes to the way we work over the past twelve months. As part of this process, we are always on the look out for people who can help us to continue to deliver our work to enhance services for the people who live and work in the Selby district.
